Ibrahim
Building bridges and friendships
School: St.George’s School Cologne Ibrahim has been at St.George’s for five years, having studied in Bahrain previously. He has forged enduring bonds with peers within the school community, connections he values deeply and intends to maintain throughout his lifetime.
After St.George’s, Ibrahim is planning to pursue a degree in International Relations and aims to one day work as a UN Diplomat. He is looking to play a valuable role in promoting peace, stability, and cooperation in an increasingly interconnected world, striving to build bridges, resolve conflicts, and advance common interests for the benefit of all nations. The Middle East's strategic location at the crossroads of Africa, Asia, and Europe provides insights into global geopolitics, economics, and cultural exchanges. Living in the region has broadened Ibrahim's global perspective and awareness of international affairs. The exposure to diverse cultures and traditions have fostered his cultural competence, including an understanding of customs, etiquette, and social norms. This enables him to navigate diverse social contexts and intercultural interactions with sensitivity and respect. His advice to younger students: Be open to uncomfortable situations – they can be the most effective way to develop personally and gain new experiences, that may be valuable in the future! |
